Learning Symposium

Dubbo 2019 begins with the learning symposium/workshop on Thursday 25 July. The symposium will be held in the morning at Dubbo RSL with the practical workshop taking place in the afternoon at Dubbo Showground.

The Learning Symposium is an important component of the event and this is included in the team registration fee. All registered members are required to attend.  From a learning perspective, it doesn’t stop at the learning symposium but continues over the challenge days with teams being rostered to a number of workshop pits where they will be provided with hands-on opportunities to advance their skills through industry-led tuition and discussions.  Additional tickets to attend the symposium/workshop can be purchased however the workshop pits are aimed solely at the team members.  The program for the learning symposium will be published soon, and the committee is confident that it will be an extremely valuable learning experience for all road rescue crews and patient care practitioners.

Other Interested agency staff, volunteers and visitors are invited to register and attend all sessions by completing the Extras Registration Form.

The Learning Symposium Program will be available soon.

Welcome Function

A Welcome Function will be held on Thursday evening at a local venue with the organisers promising a fun night for all.

Attendance is included in the Teams registration fee. Additional tickets may be purchased using the Extras Registration Form.

Rescue Challenge

The Extrication Challenges, in which each team will have opportunities to both demonstrate their skills and learn new ones, will take place 26-28 July at Dubbo Showground.

Teams will compete in three Extrication Challenges; Controlled, Entrapped and Time Critical.

The program also includes the Trauma Challenge which has seen increased interest over the years. It tests two of the challenge team members in what could be described as everyday medical occurrences that rescuers might come across in their line of duty.  Every six-person team registered in the Extrication Challenges will be expected to nominate at least one pair of their members for the Trauma Challenge.

Presentation Dinner

The Dubbo 2019 winners will be announced at the Presentation Dinner on Sunday night, hosted at Dubbo RSL.

Attendance is included in the Teams registration fee. Additional tickets may be purchased using the Extras Registration Form.

Rescue Bar

Teams and supporters are invited to relax and network at the Rescue Bar at Dubbo RSL on Friday and Saturday night. The traditional Swap Meet will be held here on Friday night, and teams are encouraged to bring badges, patches and other collectibles, and join in the fun.
